Vale Humanity

Vale Humanity
One man dares to assert his right,
that draws it's steely gaze
I wanna know, I wanna hear
be heard, not punished by your ways

You can't even tell me, why it is you're even here

As a fist is raised defiantly to the concerned morning air
I am no different, not to you or all you see around
Yet the hatred in your eyes transcends the need for words it seems,
much less a need for sound

From across our freshly battle line, is a man sent to engage
here to do a job, from even, the soulless back away
He whispers to himself, just talk or maybe listen so that all of this can end
Another time, another place, brothers?
At least the best of friends.

The now frantic morning air
burns like fire across his skin
and in a moment that lasts a life time
He draws down upon the reckoning

What is that in his hand,
Cold steel warning, or the sun
There' a heavy heart sinking faster still,
Behind cross hairs, within the scope, atop the gun

I cannot read your mood,
so shall your vengeance come to pass?
but it seems you've made a choice,
that could well be your last

All the world hushed silent now
As our fate is chosen for us
By it's favorite little opiate
This chosen God, that will adore us.

And in this moment pure,
All doubt reduced to none.
A fleeting glimpse is offered up
Of choices made, moreover, wrong

And in this end; so wrongly named
One of us becomes the past.
The other, sadly, becomes something else,
So very much, much worse.
